When do you need depression counseling
All of us experience depression at one point in our lives.We experience many problems during our lifetime that is why it is but natural to feel depressed at times.But there are some persons whose depression become very, very serious.That is when those people really need a counseling.Because if the depression is not attended to then the consequences can be devastating.In this article we are going to look at some signs of knowing when to seek help for depression.
Depression can affect anyone at anytime as said earlier in the article. Things like struggles in marriage or relationships. Or depression can be caused by losing a loved one in our lives. The reasons for depression that I see in my depression counseling practice varies so much. But knowing when to help someone in need is very important.
You would know that a person already needs help if he/she is already depressed for a long time now.Someone would need counseling already if you can notice that he/she is already depressed for days already.Or if someone has started to avoid social interaction then he/she already needs help too. As a family counselor San Diego I have seen all these symptoms.If you know someone who has been depressed for a long time already then you should help them by seeking help for them.
The reason you must seek help for them is because they can hurt themselves if the depression is left untreated.But they can also hurt other people and that is the more important reason. Usually this happens when the depression turns to anger. Sometimes a person feels so depressed and helpless they get angry. So as you can see depression is a serious condition. When you see it you need to get the person treated right away.Their lives or other lives could be in danger.
