A Young Woman’s Abusive Drinking Results In a DWI, Mental Health Issues, Depression, and Time In Jail

Jesse had an exceedingly hard time maintaining a job. Indeed, because of her indolence and lack of motivation, she was out of work far more regularly than she was employed. And when she did secure a job, she had an extremely difficult time getting to work on time, she often got poor performance reviews, and she called off sick so often that she typically got fired a week or two after she started working. To no one’s astonishment, one of the consequences of Jesse’s awful employment track record was the fact that she was almost totally broke almost on a daily basis.

Regardless of Jesse’s less than great work track record and financial lack of attention, however, one way or another she made it a point to drink in an excessive manner most of the time.

So it came as no big surprise when Jesse received a fifth DWI. When she went to court, the judge stated to Jesse that her alcohol-related actions was awful and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to serve nine months in the county jail.

Time In The City Jail To Think About The Devastating Consequences of Excessive and Hazardous Drinking

During her time in the county jail, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the adverse results of irresponsible and hazardous drinking, and she was expected to get alcohol treatment. The magistrate stressed the fact that unless Jesse receives professional alcohol counseling and discovers how to live a life of abstinence, she will quite possibly be spending quite a bit of her time in the city jail.

Jesse articulated that she comprehended what the magistrate was proclaiming but she still felt that placement in the city jail was not the most realistic verdict. The magistrate saw things from an entirely different vantage point and stated that it was his professional duty to keep alcoholics off the streets who drive and drink and who get a DUI. To support this view, the magistrate listed some venerable, thoroughly researched alcohol statistics that underscored some of the disruptive outcomes that are related to excessive drinking.

Even though Jesse knew that she drank abusively, she never believed that she was an alcohol dependent person. So it was a big bombshell when Jesse began suffering from symptoms of alcohol withdrawal approximately three-and-a-half hours after getting incarcerated.

To manage her symptoms of alcohol withdrawal in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was life flighted to a rehab facility for alcohol detox and then returned to the local jail. While behind bars Jesse was given a mental health assessment for her depression and undertook alcohol therapy but since she got this rehab as something that was forced upon her, she was unsuccessful in taking ownership of her irresponsible and hazardous drinking.

When her time in the city jail was finished, the judge without reservation told Jesse that she would be under strict surveillance and would be mandated to take periodic urine alcohol tests.

Jessie’s Abusive Drinking Stops Her From Living in an Adult and Responsible Manner

After hearing how Jesse neglected to take ownership of her drinking problem and how she unwillingly followed the rehabilitation protocol while in the local jail, the magistrate knew that it was basically a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her abusive drinking behavior. As the judge reflected on Jesse’s situation, he couldn’t help but think about how some people never use their intellect and discover how to live in an accountable and adult manner.
