For the fourth year running the Office of Fair Trading reports that used cars are the one item that receives the most frequent complaints. More than 650,000 used car buyers in the UK complained about the car they had bought in 2009 alone. This is a huge number of complaints about one thing and this highlights the need for people to be extra vigilant when looking for a used car.
The majority of the complaints centre around those who have discovered problems with the car pretty soon after they have made the purchase. The car dealer has an obligation to fix anything that was broken when they sold the car but many will deny that there was any problem when they sold it.
